I said he is either a site admin (which clearly as you point out you are) or a moderator, but either type of rank on the forum software doesn't allow me to ignore them. So if he has moderator rank on this site, I won't be able to ignore him.

I tried to ignore him and that I couldnt because he was an admin or moderator

Just explaining why I decided to leave over putting Jim on ignore

No, he's a member, like you. He is a member with considerably more informal authority, as he has been here a long time, made a lot of posts, and is a former Admin, but there are no mods here, and there are only two members with Admin privilege here - myself and the built in default called "Admin". You should be able to ignore him if you wish. This looks like a glitch. I will look into it.

Um, yeah, like clash said. People should be able to ignore me too. I wonder if this is one of those "founder" settings. When Jim cycled out of being an admin it may not have been reset and that could be the issue.

That makes sense, Bill! That might be an issue, and it would never show up.

Yeah...I mean...if anyone else wants to ignore me, we should definitely find out why it's not allowing it.

But this waste of air?

Fuck him...

All fucking around aside...

...I brought this up when I moved out of being an admin...that for some reason I could still log in as an admin. I just did so again to test and it worked...

Post Re: Goodbye Everyone
I just tried to put Jim on my ignore list, it said in red text (blood red, different to the garish wussy red of rpg.net mods)

You cannot add administrators and moderators to your foes list.

I think this issue has popped up on forums before. On the one hand, when they made Curt a mod on rpg.net, everyone who had him on ignore still couldn't see what he had to say, users were "strongly encouraged" to remove him from their ignore lists. Later when Curt was dropped back to ordinary poster status he still couldn't be ignored. I'd be interested to see if while banned he could be ignored, but I suppose it would be a rather academic point. :)

Far as I can recall, I've only ever used the ignore list for racist/etc motherfuckers who the forum admins hadn't got around to banning yet. And they do always get themselves banned, the racism is usually less part of a genuinely-held ideology and more just enjoying stirring shit and annoying people, which does eventually get everyone banned.

I've certainly never put someone on my ignore list simply because of their opinions about gaming. That would be full-on geektard. I wouldn't ignore even Ron Edwards if he came to a forum I used, I'd just mock him mercilessly. So I'm certainly not going to ignore someone just because he's a humorless dullard who won't allow snacks at his game table. The rest of you really need to harden the fuck up. You have evidently got some issues in the past between you, you need to build a bridge and get over it.

Alright...somebody should try now...

I removed myself as a Founder (even if I am one) because that seemed to be the most likely culprit. It even said something about special privileges Founders get...so...

Just in case, I also checked permissions, and for some reason while I didn't have an Admin role assigned, all of the individual permission were as if I was an Admin - so I changed them all to No.

I can't log in as an admin anymore, so that is a good sign...
