Post Access Forbidden for Uruguay?
The Pundit posts:

Quote:
It'd be pretty hard to register on a site where you go to the front page and get this:

Quote:
Access forbidden!

You don't have permission to access the requested directory. There is either no index document or the directory is read-protected.

If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.
Error 403

And apparently everyone else in Uruguay gets that too...

But its not an anti-Pundit site, and they're neither worried nor afraid of me, right dude?

RPGPundit

Another Uruguayan gamer there said he got the same message.

Are they IP banned from the Haven?

He may very well be telling the truth, but frankly I don't believe anything he says, ever.

I just keep hearing one of the Duke brothers at the end of Trading Places shouting for someone to turn the machines back on.

I had a lot of trouble with spammers when I set up my first bulletin board, and found that after using the recommended (by software community members) IP ranges to ban spammers, some people got locked out.

I got around this by getting them to check the own IP address and email them to me so that I could manually set their accounts up.

The RPGPundit needs access to this site so that he has something to write about

Let's put it all in context....

Remember the DoS attack? If you remember that discussion, Bill said it seemed to have originated in Russia, but then hopped the world and seemed to be coming from South America.

In the process of defending against that attack, it could very well be that everything from Venezuela to Chile got set to Deny.

None of which is to draw any conclusion except that an attack happened and it came from that direction. If the chief narcissist someplace else wants to link those - well, then I suppose he must be admitting to the attack!

It's seriously coincidence...

Jim,
Still, it must be frustrating... Trying to find something to blog about and you can't get access to the target of your paranoid rants.

As for coincidence, either that narcissist is really as paranoid as he comes across, or he greatly underestimates the intelligence of those people who do read his rants. Blind Freddy could tell you it was coincidence

Crap. I was worried about this. O.k. I am on it. It may take a bit. There are close to 1000 cidr ranges to sort through and find the ones that screw with Uruguay. Also a couple of locations. On the plus side, the system works like it was designed to!

To review, we had attacks come in from Brazil, China and Russia. Usually, we get hit by one or two but this was a bit larger. Read noting into that more than we won the hacker lottery.

I do find it interesting his undies are in a bunch over a site he hates about topics he feels only copies his content on a forum he refuses to register for. Understand, I will give this the attention it deserves based on non-members having issues. I will elevate it if members are having problem but I will be working on it regardless. I hope to have it resolved later tonight. I will be eating dinner first and going for a walk.

Please report any other access issues. Thanks.

If he wants to join, it is a simple matter for him to email you his IP address, and you could work with that.

Otherwise, it's just more material for a rant.
