Post Ten Thousand
Well, there is yet another mile stone. This is the 10,000th post.

Congrats to everyone on reaching 10,000 posts. Here are some numbers I thought interesting:

  1. It’s been 23 weeks, pretty much to the day, that Bill and I kicked this puppy off.
  2. In that time, we’ve averaged:
    1. roughly 435 posts a week, about 62 per day
    2. roughly 27 new topics a week, almost 4 a day
    3. roughly 9 new users a week, more than 1 a day.
  3. Little (almost no) moderation

It’s not a bad start in my mind. I look forward to building this place with you all, further growing our vision of a different kind of place to discuss RPG’s.

As always, suggestions, comments, questions, etc. regarding our way forward are always appreciated and considered.

Thanks,
Jim

Awesome! I feel like this place has been on fire this last week and it's great because it's about the quietest period of the year at work. Thanks, everybody and a big thanks to you two, Jim and Bill, for putting this baby together.

Jim, we all appreciate the speech but nobody cares.

Could you just skip the prose and say who had the 10000th post and how to proceed to get the giant plush panda and mythril polyhedral dice set prizes?

In other news, I love this place! :D

PS: seems to me the Haven is picking up more action lately.

For the record, we had a dip in terms of new visitors to the site about 3 weeks ago then it has picked up in the last week. This includes returning posters.

Here is the report in PDF.

Cool, Bill!

I'm not sure I understand everything but it seems we Canadians are particularly sophisticated as we check a lot more pages on average per visit than other gamers in the rest of the world.

(I have no idea what that actually means but I like to say it means we are sophisticated)

Always about being more sophisticated for those of you from the Great White North, doesn't it... ;)

I did the 10,000th post. I knew it was coming so I had the post prepared earlier in the day. It was, however, serendipity that I happened to see #9999 go up and was able to slam that baby home.

The only prize I get is more discussion - which is better than I could have hoped for.

@Bill - yeah, we discussed this a while back; I was just going by pure averages. You have the better statistical analysis.
