Post SF Risus Game: Interstellar Truckstop. Interested?
WHAT?
A humorous science fiction (easy on the science, though) play-by-post game about the employees and/or regulars at an interstellar truckstop. Shenanigans of indeterminate but ridiculous sorts occur.

WHERE?!
Here, on this board. Oh! And, uh, the setting is a far-future starport truckstop -- part Mos Eisley, part Flying J.

WHY?
'Cause duh.

WHO?
I have one player lined up and room for three more. If you want to be counted among that elite cadre, do somethin' about it.

HOW?
I'll use Risus. If you don't know what that is, Google it. Game's free so getcha some. Make a character as per the rules; Hooks & Tales are OK but don't work yourself too hard. Thematically-appropriate Clichés are stuff like Alien, Pointy-Eared Alien, Human Guy Who Doesn't Get These Damn Pointy-Eared Aliens, KLN900-Series Janitron, Galactically-Famous Chef On The Skids, Fresh-Faced Dreamer Just Off The Turnip Ship, Rogueish Tramp Freighter Captain, Big Hairy Alien Badass, Sexy Space-Princess, Cliff Claven...like that.

What say, turkeys?!

In like Flynn, baby. I've been looking for an excuse to buy The Risus Companion after your glowing review and a little PBP in Risus may just be what I need, since I've never actually played it.

I'll try to get a character done by the end of the day today, end of the weekend definitely.

I'm thinking a gum-chewing, wisecracking, oversexed waitress just a little beyond her prime + alien (that's what I'll need to figure out).

Awesome!

Heh! Split those exact words into single clichés and you're pretty much done, Chief.

Okay, here she is:

Fleaugh (pronounced "Flo")

Head waitress at the (name to be determined), Fleaugh is half-human half-Bedelian cougar who has loved and lost a lot in her life, but never lets it daunt her chain-smoking, warm-hearted personality, though she hides it in a gruff exterior.

Clichés: Waitress Extraordinaire (3), Whipsmart Mouth (3), Fading Beauty (2), Bedelian Metamorphasis (2)

Only her doctor can say for sure. Nobody at the diner has ever seen it, but some say that it has been responsible for ending at least one of her romances and Rygelian Freightlanes is still looking for that driver that came through this quadrant 7 cycles ago, the sweet-talker.

The pureblood Bedelian is a beetle like creature that only consumes food once every 4k timeunits. It is able to carry the food inside of itself and slowly digest it over time, allowing it to survive without food and in harsh environments for great durations. This makes them excellent for long-term space repair jobs.

I mean, what's the cliché good for?

I don't know. Every now and then she turns into a giant beetle and eats someone? Okay, it's pretty vague. How about Bedelian Mandibles(2) instead? She has two powerful mandibles on the side of her face with which she can exert tremendous force. Just in case things get fighty or locks need to be broken.

No, the first one was fine -- in fact I like it better. I just didn't know what exactly you meant is all. Cool!
