 Fate of the Norns: Ragnarok
I'm wondering if anyone knows about Fate of the Norns?

It's apparently the third edition of this RPG and came out in 2005 and not a freaking review anywhere. There's a review on RPG.net for the first edition, which seems to use an uninspiring system. The latest edition apparently changed that. It now uses viking runes for resolution instead of dice.

But does it rock or suck?

Note to Pendelhaven Publishing: You ain't going to sell me shit until you show me shit.

Color me intrigued. A "go-to" Viking game is still on my wish list.

Oh and it's set in Iceland! That get's another plus from me.

So how the hell do I purchase this thing?

Beats me. I'm disappointed but not surprised by the lack of responses. It doesn't look like these guys have done ANYTHING at all to promote this game :(

Damn, I want to know more about this one too and can't find anything on it. It's both tantalizing and disappointing at the same time. :|

So how do we contact them and get them here to discuss it? I mean, we've had this happen before and it always seems to lead to interesting and productive discussions.

C'mon walker - use some of those RPG micro-celebrity podcast connections...

Somewhere in the back of my memory, I have a feeling that I've heard a podcast interview with them before. I could be wrong. Is there no contact info on the site?

ironically, it looks like the authors true domain (for his company) is like ours - http://www.pendelhaven.com/

his name is Andrew Valkauskas

and his email is: andrew(AT)pendelhaven(DOT)com

Yeah and I'm holding back. There's at least one other RPG I want to talk about around here but I gotta keep some ammunitions and first solve the mystery behind this Viking game :P

Concerning Fate of the Norns: I have to say that while I am intrigued and thrilled by the game description, I don't think it will live up to it. I'm keeping my expectations low and can't say I have a good feeling. But you never know so I asked.

Has anyone tried to contact them?

Heya!

Stumbled across this old thread that looked like it needed a reply: FOTN:R has a FREE saga (with mini-rules) that can be downloaded at DriveThruRPG
http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/index.php ... rs_id=3107

The author stepped away onto other projects and *children* from roughly 2007 to early 2012 :)

The 1st edition has been re-released this spring leading up to the 20th anniversary celebrations next year. There is an imminent kickstarter campaign (for a brand new FOTNR edition) about to start, more info on the Facebook fan page:
http://www.facebook.com/FateOfTheNorns

And some other downloads, videos and info are on the home page:
http://www.fateofthenorns.com

Go give it a whirl! :)
