 Fifth Element
I was struck the other day by just how gameable this setting is. The setting is well laid out for a quirky sci-fi feel. I don;t know about reusing the movie perse but the police, the obvious wide spread humans amongst the stars, the other races, the somewhat decayed but yet rigid society, works for me like a Blade Runner setting with humor.

Thoughts?

It's pretty damn gameable. The funny thing is over at therpgsite I mentioned that one of the comics I would like turned into a game is Transmetropolitan :

FE reminds me of this comic. The tone, the bizarre cityscape. I would rather the PCs be regular types boosted with tech - bio or otherwise - but other than this, it would be a freewheelin' adventure type game.

David R

I would be the guy
Guy at the Door: "Give me the Cassssshhhhhh!"
Corbin: "O.k. but you have the safety on."
GatD:"Oh....ahhh....ehhh"
Corbin points to the safety on the gun.
GatD raises the gun threateningly.
Corbin: "O.k....Ok.. Tank your time".
GatD pushes the safety deactivating the gun.
Corbin takes the gun away. "Nice hat."
GatD: "Thanks." Does a little dance.

Just details like that point to a dystopia without the grimness of Blade Runner (not that I don't like Blade Runner too).

Post Re: Fifth Element
The first time I saw 5E, I was writing in the middle of the night - about 2 or so - and got donw with the section I was working on. My wife had left the TV on, and 5E had been playing for some time. I sat on the couch and caught is somewhere in the middle. At first I was completely WTF? I was trying to interpret it as a serious SF movie, but it was not working. Gears were stripping and smoke was rising, and I was about to turn it off when the alien started singing. Suddenly, everything clicked, and I loved it!

For further inspiration of that style, see the original Heavy Metal movie. Excellent material there as well.
