Post PIrates of the Caribbean 4
Saw PotC tonight.
Overall good. I liked it better than 2 and 3, for the most part.
Ian McShane was good, although he was mostly just Captain Swearengin. So no new ground. I didn't miss Orlando Bloom or Kiera Knightly at all. (I was actually pretty pleased when I found out they weren't going to be in this one.)
Spoiler: show
I did miss Pintel and Ragetti. While a new character, Master Scrum did pretty good job as comic relief. Well as much as Jack Sparrow needs comic relief.

I was bothered by the over the top "Talk Like a Pirate Day" dialog at times. It seemed to get better as the movie went on. Also the absolute fucked-up naval inaccuracies ticked me off. I can understand anachronisms like the "Queen Anne's Revenge" being a galleon with an absurdly high poop and bow flamethrowers. But when a captain turns to his second in command and says, "Stay here Lieutenant Commander," I want to scream. This is a mistake with no defense. It does not serve the story or add any cool. It's just plain wrong.
