Post Smart idea
I was reading a review of Lamentations of the Flame Princess and I noticed this:

Quote:
At first glance, the most revolutionary thing I found in the rulebook was an indexed character sheet that references the pagination of the relevant rules. This is a remarkably straightforward and effective way of quickly making the game understandable to newcomers – it seems like a small thing but why hasn’t this always been the way game developers do it? Simple but brilliant.

I agree with the reviewer. I want game designers to include this in their books from now on. Chop chop.

One of the things I really love is character sheets with actual rules on them.

I've seen a few of those, the one that comes to mind right now is the most recent: Lady Blackbird.

In the case of a more detailed game, having a mini-index is pretty slick, however!

Didn't 4e do something like that in the PHB?I seem to recall a big graphic of a character sheet with some kind of reference numbers in bubbles...

Mouse Guard also did this very, very well.

EDIT: By "this" I mean rules on character sheet.

My first time playing the game I had a character sheet and played without the book and it was smooth as silk.

nWod is excellent for this. All the numerical stuff you need to remember when generating a character is right there on the sheet itself in a little field at the bottom.
