 Iconic Game Art
If you had to pick one piece of gaming artwork as your favorite, which would you select and why?

I picked this one:

I think it was by Jeff Easley. I thought it really conveyed the mood of the game and what I expected out of the game way back then, or even now for that matter...

You picked mine as well, Craig.
Seriously. That's the one I would have chosen.

Actually it's by Elmore. He signature is below the fighters right foot. Here is a larger pic that you can see it on:

Thank you to google image search for that.

But I do agree it really is a piece iconic game art. Something that will always stick in my head for the rest of my life. I played and ran a ton of basic D&D games out of that boxed set.

Thanks! I confuse those two artists a lot. Their names, not the two actual guys...

This is a particular favorite of mine :)

There is just "something" about how the robots are drawn in this by Jeff Holloway that really appeals to me.

If you don't feel like playing a Piorad when you see this you're probably a bitter non gamer :)

My favorite is this one. I just have a soft spot for it. (I also like the red box cover, already shown above)

I also love Jeff Easley's DMG cover, which I think really sold me on the idea of GMing:

I have immense respect for Elmore, Parkinson and Easley. They each moved massive amount of (sometimes downright shitty) products and played a huge part in establishing franchises such as Forgotten Realms and Dragonlance on the road to commercial success.
