Post Uploading Documents
Can the admins enable us the ability to upload documents (*.doc) and pdf (*.pdf) files?
I would appreciate this, as I am sure others would.

Thanks,

Craig J. Brain

PDFs and Docs are enabled. Hmm, the default size restrictions were on though, about 256 K. I have upped them to 20 M with a 100 M overall allowance. We will see how that goes. Let's shoot for reasonable sized attachments though, if possible.

Thanks.

I just tried to post a PDF (as we discussed by PM) and I got this message,
The extension pdf is not allowed.

Thanks very much! That is far more than I expected.

I am still getting "The extension pdf is not allowed."

I should be less cryptic...

I checked the settings, and they all seem correct. The only thing I could see as a possible issue at the board level was that it did not allow attachments in PM's - so I thought I'd check to see if that was the case.

I'll keep looking...

I think I might have found it, but I want to confer with Bill to make sure it's the way I think it is...

Bill?

OK - pdf's are assigned to the extension group of Documents. But if you look at the Documents extension group, it's not allowed (as a group). No, providing that entire group (including pdf's) would allow a bunch of other types of extensions.

So we either need to allow that groups as a whole, or create a new group with just pdf in it and allow that group to be attached.

All of this is in addition to the general settings on attachments (yes/no, size limits, etc.)

Yeah, they snuck it in as a group deny. I have been out of office today so I just looked it over quickly before I left. I have allwed the document group and we will see how that goes. Guve it a whirl.
